A magnitude 7 earthquake hit China’s Sichuan province on April 20th claiming over 190 lives and injuring thousands. In addition to the human toll and devastation,
this unfortunate occurrence will no doubt impact all stone suppliers ability to provide Chinese White Marbles. The picture below shows the ONLY road up to the
factories. Due to the earthquake, the road is now mostly gone.
The epicenter was just south of the villages that produce white Sichuan marbles, including our Arabescato. One factory owner in Lushan Town confirmed that the town
was basically leveled. Many factories suffered severe damage.
Based on the damage to the factories and the destruction of the only road leading to them, we may
experience disruptions in supply. In the meantime, Mosaic Tile is doing everything possible to secure additional inventory of Arabescato Marble to minimize impact
for our clients. We will also offer alternative stones if needed to best suit your requests.

Installer certification gives quality contractors and installers a nationally-recognized, industry-backed certification consumers can rely on when selecting a tile
contractor. The two part test consists of an online open book written test which is taken at home and a hands-on test taken at the Mosaic Tile Design Center located
at 2700 Avenger Drive, Virginia Beach, VA.
Registration fee is $295 (NTCA members pay $195). Upon certification, receive $300 in your choice of manufacturer’s coupons and 50 customized brochures that
include the CTEF Certification (brochures courtesy of Mosaic Tile Company). To register:

Our Chantilly Design Center hosted a CTEF (Ceramic Tile Educational Foundation) Certification program last month. Participants had their installation knowledge and
skills tested during the all day event. It is imperative within the tile industry to have as many certified installers as possible in order to tackle all sorts of
jobs.
Washington, D.C.’s design community gathered last month at the St. Regis hotel for the third in a series of Interior Design One Night Only events. The program
cultivates dialogues between designers and manufacturers. Pictured here is Mosaic Tile Architectural Sale Rep Vittorio Pomante with Samantha Messerly and
